Eric Bloom is a trumpet player that has been on the New England scene for over eight years. As a graduate of Mt.Hope High School in Bristol RI, he has been playing in the Providence, Boston, and Newport area since he was 15. Throughout his high school career, he was ranked either 1st or 2nd in RI Jazz All-State, and also ranked in the top five for RI Classical All-State. During his senior year he was chosen as the soloist for the All-Eastern Jazz Band that performed at Carnegie Hall under the direction of Jon Faddis.

After graduation, Eric then attended William Paterson University for two years studying under several well known jazz musicians such as James Williams, Harold Mabern, and Don Braden. He was also the soloist for the William Paterson Big Band that featured jazz legends Benny Powell, Benny Golson, and Randy Brecker. For a short time he played in David Berger's "Sultans of Swing" big band, and also played a benefit for the radio station WBGO 88.3 with Javon Jackson, James Williams, Jon Blake and Miles Griffith.

In 2001 he moved to boston where he enrolled at the New England Conservatory to further his jazz education. Under the guidance of Charles Schulter (Boston Symphony), George Carzone, John McNeil, Jerry Bergonzi, Bob Brookmeyer, and Danillo Perez, Eric excelled in many facets of music. By the age of 24, he he's played with such luminaries and Clark Terry, Jon Faddis, Benny Golson, Randy Brecker, Bob Brookmeyer, James Williams, Eric Reed, Kim Waters, Andre Hayward, Avishai Cohen, Bill Goodwin, Joe Lovano, Billy Drews, Harold Jones, Kenny Wheeler, Benny Green, Dave Leibman, and Roy Hargrove. Since 2003, Eric's talents have allowed him to perform for Rev. Al Sharpton, Bobby Brown, Sarah Jessica Parker, Dave Clark, Starr Jones, John Walsh, former President Bill and Hillary Clinton, and former Vice President Al and Tipper Gore. Throughout his travels, Eric has played at many of America's most prestigious venues such as NYC's Blue Note, the Village Vanguard,and Carenige Hall - Boston's Regatta Bar, and Scullers - as well as McCoy Stadium, the RI State House, Donald Trump's Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, FL, the Tremblant Blues Festival and the Jacksonville Jazz Festival.

Eric has created a following in the New England area for all of the different groups he's established during his tenure in Boston. He is the leader of the following groups: Soul Patrol, a high-intensity soul/R&B band, Jazz Awakening, his all-star jazz quartet that plays all over New England, The Reform Party, featuring Boston's premier "funk" musicians creating a fresh blend of house/hip-hop music, and American Dream, a new hard rock quartet covering classic rock tunes with a modern twist.

Eric continues to build on his incredible raw talent and is always seeking new musical inspiration. He performs with several different groups nearly every night and always leaves the crowd wanting more. He is a musician in every sense and everyday he calls on his wide range of musical influences to produce truly inspired musical compositions.
